$75/Hour & $0.75/Mile
Travel is calculated round trip from our shop to your vessel. Bluewater brings specialized marine electrical and systems expertise directly to your boat, whether it’s at your home, marina, boatyard, or another service location.
$299/1 Hour & Write-Up
Before investing thousands in an electrical upgrade, spend an hour with an ABYC & NMEA-certified specialist to understand your boat, explore your options, and determine the best path forward. Consultations are available in person or by video and can also include an onboard electrical audit to identify concerns and opportunities within your existing system. You’ll receive a concise write-up of our findings and recommendations.
Not a marine electrical survey. Comprehensive surveys and detailed reports are available and billed hourly.
Fixed-Price Project Design Available
Following your initial consultation, we can provide a fixed-price proposal to professionally design your system using CAD software. Bluewater designs projects for installation by our team throughout New England or by your preferred boatyard, technician, or service provider anywhere in the world.
Each design provides a clear roadmap for the installation, helping ensure the system is built correctly regardless of who performs the work.
Our shop is located in Rhode Island and we service all of New England from Connecticut to Maine.
Yes we can! We work with a lot of the major New England yards and carry the appropriate insurance to protect both you and your facility. It’s important to note that some yards do charge an access fee, these are solely the responsible of the vessel owner.
We provide a 1 year warranty on our labor and we support any applicable manufacturer’s warranty on equipment that we provide.
Yes you can provide your own new equipment (we don’t install preowned items).
Bluewater System Design specializes in the design, installation, integration, and troubleshooting of marine electrical and power systems. Our work includes lithium and AGM battery systems, inverter/chargers, high-output alternators, solar and wind generation, shore power and isolation transformers, electrical distribution, monitoring, and complete integrated energy systems. We approach the boat as a complete system rather than treating each component independently.
We place a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, engineering, documentation, and serviceability. Equipment should be properly selected and installed, but it should also be accessible, logically arranged, clearly identified, and understandable to the next technician who works on the boat. We take particular pride in custom fabrication and finding clean solutions for vessels where an off-the-shelf installation simply doesn’t fit.
Our team is both ABYC (American Boat & Yacht Council) and NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) trained & certified. All of our technicians hold ABYC Master Technician certifications including advanced electrical. We’re also factory trained on a number of top brands to provide you with the best service experience, including Airmar, B&G, Garmin, Raymarine, Simrad, Victron and more.
Most substantial Bluewater projects include a system schematic and custom instructions. We design before we install, allowing component placement, conductor routing, protection, connections, and system integration to be considered before work begins. The finished documentation then stays with the vessel as a valuable reference for future service, troubleshooting, upgrades, or ownership changes.
